Reference: Watching Out For Sea Turtles on Anna Maria Island



After Tropical Storm Debby washed out dozens of sea turtle nests, more adult females came ashore to lay their eggs, in a seemingly more determined effort to make up for losses.

The number of turtle nests observed and marked for 2012 looks to be a record since the beginning of data being logged by Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch.
